The Zoom F1 Fieldrecorder + Lavalier Microphone is the optimal solution for videographers who want to record speech with all details and professional quality. In addition to the included lavalier microphone, it is compatible with all zoom microphone capsules and is therefore versatile.

The Zoom F1 is a two-channel audio recorder. It supports BWF compliant WAV formats up to 24 bit/96 kHz and various MP3 formats.

The F1-LP comes with Zoom’s newly developed LMF-1 lavalier microphone that captures every nuance of your recording. In combination with the F1, you can record high-resolution audio up to 24 bit/96 kHz – perfect for interviews, your latest YouTube creation, spontaneous podcasts or wherever your F1 takes you.

With its narrow profile, the F1 can be easily attached to a belt, waistband or in a pocket, so that the recorder can also be easily hidden.

Video Film Essential Functions

Automatic lock

The record hold function or hold switch can be used to prevent you from accidentally tapping buttons during recording, thus ending valuable recording prematurely.

An on-board limiter and automatic level control keep your levels safe in case of spikes or interference occurs in your setup.

With the one-touch buttons of the F1, you have easy access to recording level, limiter control, lo-cut filter and volume. The newly designed monochrome LCD display ensures visibility even in bright sunlight.

The F1 can be powered by two AAA batteries (included) or with the optional AD-17 power supply.

Transfer recordings to your computer in card reader mode or record directly on your computer or iPad by using the F1 in USB audio interface mode.

Microphone capsules to extend your Zoom F1

The XYH-5 X/Y microphone capsule offers two coordinated unidirectional condenser microphones arranged at a 90 degree angle. The capsules are housed in a sophisticated shockproof housing that uses robust external cables and rubber coated materials to minimise vibration and background noise during operation. The XYH-5 capsule is therefore ideal for recording sound for video recordings, live shows and podcasts.

Microphone capsules to extend your Zoom F1

The XYH-6 capsule known from the H6 is now also available separately, so you can expand the possibilities of your F1 recorder. The XYH-6 X/Y capsule complements your F1 with two balanced high-quality, one-sided microphones. This type of microphone is particularly sensitive to front signals, less for lateral or backward sound incident. Technically this is referred to as a cardioid pattern. These microphones have the largest diaphragm area (14.6mm) available in a mobile recorder.

Microphone capsules to extend your Zoom F1

The SSH-6 (left) is a mid-sided stereo shotgun microphone capsule for zoom recorders. In addition to the highly directed directional microphone in the middle, the SSH-6 has a bi-directional side microphone to capture sounds from left and right. You can adjust the stereo width to your own wishes.

The SGH-6 directional microphone capsule (right) complements your F1 with a professional hypercardioid polar pattern microphone (with strong single-sided sensitivity for incident sound) – the perfect choice for recording in the film, videos, theatre, or electronic reporting (ENG/EB).

Microphone capsules to extend your Zoom F1

MS (middle) recording: a fantastic process that allows you to change the stereo base width even after recording. This technique is particularly useful for use in film, video and TV projects. Sounds like magic? Read on Although the MSH-6 capsule looks like a single microphone, it contains two microphones placed directly on top of each other. The M/S recording process is recommended if you want a variable amount of room for your recording. The technology is suitable for studio recordings and due to its flexibility, it is a real recommendation for sample and live recordings.
